So can anyone guess where we are? Pretty tough huh. I got to go with Ethan's class on a field trip last week to Bryce Canyon. It turned out to be a beautiful day. Nice and warm and no wind.
I am not sure of all the tales that were told along the trail, but this one involved hugging and kissing the tree. It was funny, because just before this Ethan was complaining about the girls and saying how annoying they are. I told him that someday he would really like these girls. He was grossed out with that thought. Then Marilyn (Aunt Marilyn) told him to hug the tree and give it a kiss. So Ethan did it. It wasn't until after Ethan did that did she tell him that the tree brings love. Anyway something like that. I laughed and told him that I was right...someday he will appreciate the annoying girls! He wished he had not kissed the tree...ha ha!
I was able to be the mom of this group of boys. They were good boys! Very respectful and kind. They were alot of fun to be with.
Ethan was attacked by an angry water bottle. He was carrying someone else's water bottle on his backpack. Well, in the picture below we stopped to make a hoodoo and when Ethan bent over the bottle flew over his back and cut his lip pretty good. He was okay and I was glad I was there to give him a hug! That is pretty much all I could do for him anyway.
Ethan's hoodoo.
I made Ethan sneak over by Aunt Marilyn so I could get a picture. He wasn't really diggin the idea. Marilyn was our guide for the day. She was the one who told all the stories and taught the kids alot. She does the tour 3 times a week. She is in great shape! That is quite a hike! Everyone loved her and the hike!
Last but not least, I have to give a little shout out for Ethan's teacher. Mr. Burton. I really have grown to appreciate this man. He is such a positive person. He has been great for Ethan. This is Mr. Burton and Bryce. Bryce has a broken leg. He made it down the trail with his crutches, but it was pretty steep going back up. Mr. Burton packed Bryce the entire way out of the canyon! Amazing!!! I think he is around 60 or 61. The man did not stop and was passing people up! He never complained once and was relatively happy with the situation! He is just a great person! Overall, it was a nice day. Alot of fun had by all...even the kids that were saying "I am going to die" on the way out of the canyon.

Man! Ethan is lucky to have a male teacher. I really have enjoyed all of the male teachers our boys have had. They seem to be so grounded and hardly skip a beat, no matter what happens. Female teachers are good too but they are so much more emotional and what kid going through any grade needs that!!!!! Good job mom for making it on such a challenging field trip.
