Weekend Activities

I have to say that this weekend has been a lot of fun. The weather has been great and we have just had fun together...at least I think we have! Ethan has taken up splitting wood. Thank heavens this wood is fairly dry and splits easily. I may get the small pieces of wood that I like if he keeps splitting. I just worry about him missing the wood and hitting his shin! That would not be good.

I have to say that Dan is the best junk finder there is! He loves to search KSL and Pioneer Shopper. I have wanted a hutch for a long time, but I am too cheap. Dan found one for me on Friday and we went and picked it up yesterday...$100. We will strip it and repaint it. I am still deciding on the color. This is the top piece with Addi modeling it.
Here is the bottom piece. We have the doors off and have started to strip it.
We were lucky yesterday and got to play a lot with cousins and aunts. Kimala and Dawsyn spent last night with us and brought pizza for dinner. Kimala also brought a craft for us to make. I stunk at making the fans for the background for the letters, but I helped make quite a few. I am proud to say that I even finished this without Kimala here and it turned out pretty cute! I normally have many half finished projects! Notice the letter "s" is upside down.

We spent a few hours with Dan's sister, Cindy, and her kids. She had plans to make this picnic table. We did a little improvising and completed it in a couple of hours. Luckily we had help from Jim and Dan. Today we painted some of it before we ran out of paint. Addi gave it a try and is happy with the results! The kids ran and got dirty and just had fun while we were building.

Ethan and Addi were excited to give Dawsyn a ride in the wagon behind the four wheeler. I think she liked it!!! She really loved the kitties! She packed the little white one around for quite awhile. Ethan tried to help her convince her Mom to let her take one home...she just wouldn't give in.
We love to spend time with our family. The kids love to play and giggle. Addi and Dawsyn got to play dress up for a few minutes. It would be very fun to have cousins a little closer...like next door!
