Our Week..Happy and Sad

This is the happy part! Ethan got his 4 wheeler running. Just needed a new battery. But we refused to buy one until he was responsible enough to plug it in. We went through 3 or 4 batteries in 6 months! That was pretty pricey. Addi was all about riding around with Ethan. She was in heaven and I think Ethan was too. See how responsible he is, he has a helmet on and Addi doesn't! Safety first for Ethan anyway!
Addi loves lip gloss and make up in general...while I was taking care of the mess below she found lip gloss and made herself beautiful.
Dan spent a wonderful night in the hospital last week due to some complications. I was there with him a lot of the time and the kids were in Koosharem. We went to get the kids Saturday after Dan was released and came home in the late afternoon. We thought...let's relax! Dan and Ethan walked into the house only to find this mess! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Not so relaxing!
Yes, this is water in my basement! Oh...and yes, below, this is mud in my basement! 5 inches!
What the h!?@ was what I was really thinking! I made a call to my Mom...you know she can fix anything! Then when she couldn't snap her fingers and make it all go away I called my insurance co. I believe that my Mom was much more helpful! Thankfully we live in an amazing little town and we were blessed with the help of about 20 amazing people! Some who were in our ward some who were not! I was in shock when people started showing up at my house and helping! They had the mess pretty well cleaned up in a few hours. Due to the weekend and deer hunt it was nearly impossible to find any disaster crew willing to work. My eyes have been opened, my heart has been touched, my faith is stronger now all because of these good people who offered their help that night! Things are looking up now...a week later! Let's hope the next 6 months are calm and disaster free!

I know how you feel. And it is not much fun. We love you too, and agree that Mom pretty much can fix things...even if it is just to help your heart or mind!!

Kristi, a sprinkler line broke outside and we weren't home. It filled up our window well and broke the window out and then just filled the basement from there. Exciting stuff!
