Raising Havoc & Good Deals!

Ethan got a remote helicopter for Christmas. I have told him time and time again. "Don't land it near Addi's hair!" So what does he do yesterday? He didn't land it in her hair, he just held it next to her hair to see what it would do!!! Sure enough it twisted her hair right up in it! Luckily it wasn't too bad to get out and no scissors were needed. I did have to get a picture for memory sake. Thank heavens for big brothers...they keep life exciting!

I have been getting pretty excited about clipping coupons lately. One of the ladies I work for got me started. I have looked into it before but was really overwhelmed by doing it. Maybe not organized enough! Anyway, I just thought I would share with you few that look at my blog what I saved today. So...as weird as this is and as corny as you may think I am. Here is my picture of my purchase today.

So here is the scoop. I got 12 bx of cereal, 4 bxs of instant oatmeal, 2 bxs popcorn, 8 boxes granola bars 20 cans of Campbell's soup, 11 cans progresso soup, 1 2 lb brick of tillamook cheese, 1 gallon milk, 1 lb ham and a 3 lb apples for $42.00. For a total savings of over $100!!! I am sure you are thinking what are you going to do with that much cereal or granola bars??? Well, they keep right? I can freeze the cheese. This is what I have learned this week. Only shop by the sales. Always have a coupon to go along with the sales in the adds. Cook your meals from your food storage. I know, I know, what an idea right!! Never, never buy food that is not on sale. I have heard that people really can save money by doing this, and who doesn't want to save money? It does take time to search for the darn coupons. It is really addicting. Dan said I was all smiles when I was checking out. So that is my story, and just so you all know, I have a really great husband. I love him a lot. He is always willing to help me with the cabins. On top of his 2 or 3 jobs he still finds time to help me with mine! That to me is huge and a life saver! Thanks Dan! Also, he makes sure that I don't teach false doctrine in Primary...that is a big thing too. If any of you get excited about the coupon thing or maybe already know all of this and have some pointers, please share! That's all for now!

WOW! Good Job! I have heard about the savings. It is alittle scary to have to cut and organize all the coupons. WE have had the hair thing too. A tire, in Quincys hair and our boys are old enough to know better. Brothers are great.

Hey Megan!
I am addicted too! I found a website www.thegrocerygame.com and she does all the finding of ads and coupons for you. A new list each week. Last week I saved $89 with my coupons! It's a silly rush, but one I look forward to!

Sorry, I'm obbsessed with this saving money thing right now... I just found out about two more websites especially for Utah.
www.pinchingpennies.com and www.grocerysmarts.com they are free sites and have a wider range of stores that they list sales prices for.

Thanks Brianne!! I am a little obsessed too..I have been using pinching your pennies and it is pretty easy. I will look into the grocery smart. Thanks for your help! Good to know I am not the only crazy one out there. Although, I am trying to hook Allison and Kimala.

Hey Megan,
It's nice to know that someone else is crazy about coupons, pinching your pennies, and food storage. My life revolves around the next great deal. Today I went to Smith's and got 51 (yeah, that's right) free Johnsons & Johnson's kids soaps. Let me know if you want to know how. It's so easy and AWESOME! I love getting all of my food storage for so cheap. I get 5 papers every Sunday. It makes for lots of coupon clipping, but it is totally worth it. By the way, my food storage has grown more since I took that picture. It's definitely and obsession.
Your famiy is so cute! It was fun to catch up with you. And, we went through the helicopter in the hair last Christmas. Luckily not tragic for us either. Tell your family hi from me.
